An Australian marble, with a materiality that references the Australian landscape, which I believe is important when selecting materials that not only are beautiful and interesting to look at but also contribute to the story and place making of Australian Architecture.

I have a preference for honest materials that don't pretend to be something they aren't and the through core body is an easy edge detail to work with eliminating the need to fabricate mitred edges.

I find the variegated glazes delightful and the texture inviting to touch. They evoke early childhood memories of watching my aunty piecing together fabric to make patchwork quilts.

The earthy colours and textures are delicious and I love that they can be used for both exterior and interior spaces as my ideal bathroom would be an outdoor one communing with nature.

The understated sophistication and simplicity of the design that lets the materiality of the Terracotta speak for itself.
