New Volumes Élan Console c⁄o Jordan Fleming

Élan Console is defined by wandering curves, subtle asymmetry, and twisting, undulating forms. Each piece appears to have been shaped by unseen forces, its contours evolving and unfolding through space. Élan captures movement suspended in frozen stillness, revealing terracotta’s strength, warmth, and quiet fluidity.
Collections for the home and office by Artedomus, New Volumes explores and pushes the boundaries of a single natural material. For each collection, we select a distinct assembly of designers to bring the material to life.
Jordan Fleming was the Winner of the Product Design category at The (Emerging) Designer Awards 2024. The jury awarded Jordan for her unique approach to materials and form, and her distinct design aesthetic – already clearly established within her emerging product design practice.
Jordan describes herself as both an artist and designer, creating idiosyncratic, experimental, and sculptural furniture and lighting objects. With a background in cabinet making and interior design, she established her own furniture design practice in 2018.
Her practice is deeply rooted in transcending the utilitarian aspects of furniture, aiming to elevate each piece beyond its programmatic function. Her work is distinguished by a whimsical and lively aesthetic, characterised by the use of tactile materials like plaster, pigment, timber, and metal. These materials enable her to imbue objects with emotion and encourage personal connections with the viewer.
